Everlane Wool Coat Review: The Lavender Cocoon Coat

I’m excited to share my positive review on this lavender wool coat from Everlane, it is a statement coat that easily elevates an outfit. The lavender color is so dreamy and the fit is great for my 5ft stature. For petite ladies like me, pockets on wool coats rarely fit right: they are usually too low down the waistline. The same goes with those belt loops on coats: if only they were stitched 3 inches higher.

If you are feeling my pain and nodding yes, then you may be happy with the fit of the this beautifully crafted wool coat from Everlane. The pockets sit perfectly at my waistline and the length is just above my knees. Some reviews complain that the pockets are awkwardly positioned too high – well, that’s good news for petite women.

The Coat

Wool Coat: Everlane (size 00, oversized fit, size down).
The luxurious double-faced wool coat is oversized, and provides generous room. I recommend sizing down when ordering. I took size 00, and honestly still wish it’s smaller. As reference, I’m usually a size 0-2.

P.S. This coat comes in 5 colors. Since it’s an oversized fit, small sizes are sold out very quickly. Get it when you can!

The Boots

Leather Boots: Treasure & Bond (size 5.5, true to size, comes in more colors).
See my review in a previous post.

My everyday go-to boots
BP. Pompom Beanie

Hats and Gloves

Beanie: BP. This convertible faux fur pompom beanie happened to match my new coat so well.

Wool Gloves: Nirvana Designs McCarren Gloves (one size, unisex).
Made with love and respect, these 100% hand knit gloves are made by Nepalese women to warm your hands and heart. The gloves feature thumb slits and fleece lining. The minimalistic design is great for both women and men.

I found mine in a neighborhood health pharmacy store, and I’m glad I got them even though they fit a bit big on me. They are not itchy and are warm for NYC.

Everything Else

Sunglasses: Miu Miu (Find pre-owned designer sunglasses on TheRealReal).
I bought the same pair in navy for my mom from TheRealReal, and she loved them. They are even prettier in person.

Turtleneck Wool Sweater: Theory (thrifted from ThredUP, size P).

Scuba Pleated Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (thrifted from Crossroads Trading, size XS).

Organic Cotton Tights: PACT (old, hope they bring these back).

Faux Leather Bag: bought in China.

Taking a photo with the Christmas Trees I never buy. I think they are nicer outdoors.
