Jasper National Park Part 1: Athabasca River Viewpoint

My recent Japanese Language Proficiency Test took me to Edmonton Alberta. Because of that, I was lucky to visit Jasper National Park. It took us about 3 hours to drive from Edmonton to Jasper. This small town situated in the heart of Jasper National Park was a visitors' favorite. The scenery along the roadside was so amazing that I was in awe and an uplifting mood for the entire ride. There were many viewpoints along the way where we were able to park and leave the car for picture-taking and hiking. Before reaching Jasper, one of the breathtaking views we saw was next to the Athabasca River.

For my outfit that day, I wore my old tee, stretchy denim and running shoes. Sunglasses are a must for the summer time. The pink stripes on the tee matched with the pink on my sneakers very well. This grey and pale pink color palette is one of my favorite combinations for a soft and feminine feeling.

When these photos were taken, the weather was unpredictable and changed every few hours. Cloudy, sunny, drizzling, and down pouring...were all packed into one day. Thinking back now it was actually fun. Though the locals almost had an apologetical tone when they asked us "how was the weather today". Apparently, Jasper can be very moody, as many mountain ranges are.

Life in the mountains felt so slow and peaceful. With abundant nature surrounding us, it was a great place for hiking, relaxing and just simply connecting with mother earth.
