Summer Black Outfit: Dark Florals & Ruffles

Sometimes you just want to go all black - even in summer. In order to add more fun to my summer black outfit, I chose a pair of embroidered shorts with bits of bright colors. Then I topped it with a ruffled sleeveless for an even sweeter look.

This cropped top fits like a regular length on me, and it's another great find from ThredUP Goody Boxes.

I got the embroidered shorts from a sample sale event hosted by 260 Sample Sales in NYC. This may be worth checking out if you are interested in certain brands. For now, I'm keeping an eye on the G-Star RAW Sample Sale for some ethical denim additions to my wardrobe. This sample sale is happening from September 4th to 9th. Maybe you will catch me there.

I love my new straw bag from Reformation. It's so perfect for summer time and it carries my everyday essentials for both work and weekends. 

The sandals are from Sam Edelman. For reference, I'm usually a 5.5, and I feel these shoes are true to size. I love the cushioned footbeds, and they are so simple and low key that you can pair them with almost anything.

I don't usually wear black for the summer, since I get to wear black all the time in the winter. However a summer black outfit can still feel balanced with hints of pop colors or light neutral-colored accessories.
